The history of the legendary German manufacturer began in 1916 as a result of the merger of two smaller companies involved in aircraft engines, and already in 1923 the first motorcycle of the brand saw the light.

It laid down the concept that is still in use today: a two-cylinder boxer engine with a longitudinal arrangement and a cardan transmission were considered quite progressive solutions at that time.

In 1929, it was the BMW motorcycle that set the absolute world speed record, accelerating to 216 kilometers per hour.

Until the eighties, the motorcycle division of the company was actively developing, and produced various versions of its boxer cars, the most striking of which was the GS family.

But against the backdrop of the Japanese rivals that flooded the market, Bavarian motorcycles began to look like dinosaurs, which made BMW puzzled by the release of new families, first the legendary "K", and then the equally successful "F", later renamed G.

Today, BMW is one of the largest and most important motorcycle manufacturers, distinguished primarily by advanced technologies, innovations, and a high attention to comfort and safety.

And in response to the challenges of the time - the growth of Asian markets, and, as a result, competition with local manufacturers, the Bavarians opened a factory in India, where they began production of an affordable single-cylinder machine with a volume of 310 cm³.
